Exclusive “Egg Taster” hits The Rib Room for two weeks only

To celebrate the arrival of Easter, the renowned Rib Room Restaurant has introduced a seasonal “Egg Taster” dish to its impressive breakfast menu, featuring eggs both large and small.

Available from 29th March until 9th April 2010, the Egg Taster features three delicious tasting dishes created exclusively for the restaurant by Executive Chef Simon Young, all served on one plate. The Egg Taster costs £12 and comprises:

  • Miniature duck egg and Keens cheddar omelette
  • Poached quail eggs Benedict
  • Scrambled goose egg with smoked salmon
  • Plus toast, tea and coffee

Wine Dinners at The Rib Room

Throughout 2010, The Rib Room is holding a series of exclusive wine dinners hosted by a number of wine connoisseurs.

To be held in the private dining room, Simon will use the very best of local British ingredients in collaboration with some of the world’s greatest wines. Each evening consists of five wonderful courses and six select wines, and will be packed with insight, facts and figures from the world of food and wine.

The three wine dinners will be seasonal and held in April, July & November

A renowned visionary who is passionate about cuisine, Simon Young believes that ingredients should not be masked and over complicated. Instead they should be enhanced to bring out their natural flavours, resulting in a clean and distinct taste. “When creating a new recipe, I always think about how each and every ingredient will complement each other to create a complete and balanced dish,” he says.

Perfectly balancing glamour and comfort, the Chinoiserie will have you spoilt for choice with its array of tea infusions sourced from around the globe. Tea is served with a fascinating dose of historic anecdotes and sound bites from famous literary figures.

Champagne, sandwiches and sumptuous cakes and pastries in addition to the comforting tastes of buttered crumpets and traditional Welsh rarebit can be washed down with the nations favourite.

Afternoon Tea in Chinoiserie is served daily from 3pm to 6pm and £30-£35 per person

Whether you fancy a game of backgammon, or simply a glass of the finest Champagne, GILT Champagne Lounge is the place to go for fun and drinks...

While sipping on one of GILT’s fabulous cocktails, you can amuse yourself with a number of quality, wooden games from Hamleys such as Mancala, Labyrinth, Chess, Backgammon, Draughts, Shut the Box and Puzzle Box.

However, for the ultimate test of skill, you can play the classic ‘Buzz Wire Game’ and attempt to move a wand along the Buzz Wire from one end to the other. Anyone making it to the end of the wire without “Buzzing Off” will be rewarded with a complimentary GILT cocktail!
