Japan Airlines is Asia's biggest airline group. Originally founded in 1951 for domestic operations, Japan Airlines (JAL) launched international services in February 1954. Today, JAL Group airlines serve 216 airports in 34 countries and regions, including 60 airports in Japan. The Group network extends over 246 international passenger routes and 37 international cargo routes. The JAL Group domestic network covers 154 routes (as of June 2008).
